Move Mode
Move Mode turns the scanner into a tool for *reorganizing* your physical collection — not just adding cards. Instead of adding what you scan, you scan cards to move them from one location to another.
Add vs. Move
The scanner has two tabs:
- Add — The default. Scanned cards are queued to be added to your collection.
- Move — Scanned cards are matched against a chosen source location and queued to move into a destination location.
How It Works
1. Switch the scanner to the Move tab
2. Pick a Move from (source) and Move to (destination) — these can be binders, collection decks, or your root collection
3. Scan the physical cards you're relocating
4. For each scan, Grimoria checks your collection and shows its state:
- In source — all copies are present and will be moved
- Partial — only some of the requested copies are in the source
- Not in source — you own it, but not in the chosen source (pick an alternate source or skip)
- Confirmed — already in the destination, so no change is needed
- Not owned — you don't own it yet; choose to add it to the destination or skip
5. Review the queue and press Move to apply everything at once
Handling Mismatches
Move Mode is forgiving. For any card that isn't cleanly in the source you can add it to the destination instead, pick a different source location, or skip it. After moving you'll get a summary like *Moved 8, added 2, confirmed 3* so you know exactly what happened.
Phone + Desktop
Move Mode is driven from the desktop, where you pick source and destination. If you've linked your phone as a scanning camera (see Group Scanning), the phone simply scans while your desktop handles the source/destination choices — the phone shows a Move mode active banner so you know which mode you're in.
Why Use It
- Re-file cards into the right binder after a trade night
- Pull a deck's cards out of storage and into a deck box
- Reconcile your digital collection with where cards physically live — by scanning instead of clicking through menus
